Name: Elizabeth Long Home town: Reigate, Surrey
Job: Director of Robert Ashworth for Men and Women

What would you say are the key trends for this season?

For the ladies, the key trends are all about colour, with deep earthy tones, plums and greys all present on the catwalks. The key item is unmistakably the little black dress, which can be layered up with eye- catching jewellery and accessories taking your look from day through to night. The new season introduces a real sense of luxury for women, with lots of silk, cashmere and wow factor pieces with exceptional detail.

As for the guys, layered looks are really big - it's all about buying different pieces and mixing them together in one outfit. Also, right on-trend at the moment is teaming a blazer with a pair of jeans for casual sophistication. Checks have taken over from stripes, and navy, earthy tones dominate this season's collections. Smarter, more tailored evening wear is also making a huge comeback.

Which do you think will be your best-selling item this month?

In womenswear, dresses from the new season collections, particularly the little black shift dress by D&G, which is an essential wardrobe item that won't ever date. It will carry from season to season and can be dressed up with eye-catching accessories for a real statement look.
For men, it will be the bold, colourful chequered shirts from the likes of Gant and Ralph Lauren.

What are your three hottest labels?

Hugo Boss (available in menswear and womenswear), D&G womenswear and Zegna Sport (a brand-new men's label, which will be very popular).

What would you say is your best buy at the moment?
Definitely my D&G bright purple, long-sleeved silk shirt with a rose detail on the neckline from Robert Ashworth Womenswear (I'm wearing it in the picture!). It's right on-trend and is really versatile as it goes with so many pieces in my wardrobe.

Is there anything you would recommend for the guys?

Be adventurous: try something new this season. Look out for the Barbour and Boss Green labels in store (new brands this season at Robert Ashworth), which offer simple yet stylish, eye-catching contemporary clothing that will ensure you look and feel your best.

If someone was going to buy one key item for this season, what should it be?

A Barbour International biker jacket, which is available for both men and women at Robert Ashworth.

Is there anyone in Surrey whose style you particularly admire?

Our regular customers that we style in Robert Ashworth always look and feel great in what they wear. We'd like to meet more men and women who can easily replicate what is seen on the catwalks this season; they just need to be pointed in the right direction by our friendly team in store.

In the competitive fashion industry, what are the ingredients for success?

At Robert Ashworth, we believe the key to success lies in listening to our customers, delivering a personalised and friendly customer service to every individual and always striving to exceed their expectations.

What would be your top tip for people visiting your store?

As well as a personal styling service for for both men and women, in which our expert team will happily talk you through the key trends of the season and help find items that suit you, we also offer a bespoke made to measure and hire wear service in store.
