Becky, the Personal Shopping Manager at Bentalls, Kingston and her wonderful team help customers in one to one appointments with their fashion needs.

Personal shopping is seen as a bit overwhelming and intimidating, when really it’s the opposite; you will get to know a kind, understanding, friendly and professional stylist.

With years of combined experience, they know what women and men need from their wardrobes. They understand that we all have budgets, time constraints and different lifestyles, so they will ensure that your wardrobe needs reflects your personality.

We asked Becky some key questions about getting your wardrobe ready for the season ahead…

Q. With the party season coming up, which brands offer the best options for the festive season?

A. There are some wonderful options in store this season, there’s lots of sparkle about; gold, copper and silver along with some beautiful coloured accessories. My top brands for festive wear are Ralph Lauren, Whistles, L K Bennett and Ted Baker all on the first floor.

Q. This year, is it all about the much loved Little Black Dress or should we be trying something a bit different?

A. You can’t go wrong with a LBD, try Whistles’ fringed dress for a bit of texture and fun. If you fancy a different party look, why not invest in a pair of velvet skinny trousers? JBrand and AG would be good brands to try. Team them with a cream silk laser cut top from Jigsaw or go or full on sequin and colour at L K Bennett.

Q. As for general winter trends, which colours should we adding to our wardrobe?

A. burnet orange and mustard have moved over to make way for rich jewel tones like Burgundy and Claret red. Navy and bottle green really work well when contrasted with a softer more muted palette of greys, beige and nude.

Q. …And the best coats to see us through until spring?

A. The Parka is here to stay, for an alternative to the classic khaki try black or navy. Top Shop, Karen Millen, Whistles all have great options. Faux Fur is everywhere this winter, whether it is a trim on you parka or as gilet. Esprit have some great options as well as Unreal Fur. It’s the perfect match to both your jeans and loafers or to pop over your LBD and keep you cosy on your night out.

Q. What are the benefits of booking a personal shopping appointment in the run up to Christmas?

A. It’s just such a great way to choose your Christmas party outfit! What could be better…. you relax in the comfort of your own private suite, avoiding the crowds, while your personal shopper selects things that she feels will suit you, your brief and budget.

A personal shopping appointment is also the perfect Christmas gift to either your partner, parent, best friend or yourself. Gift vouchers are available in store or online at www.fenwick.co.uk.
