What would you say are the key trends for this season?
The key colours this season are rich purples, teals and plums with accents of mustard and acid yellow. There is a big focus on the ladylike trend with structured pencil skirts, bags and jackets. The classic trench and mac coats are given a revival in our parachute coat and another key jacket trend is military.

Which do you think will be your best-selling item this month?
Our navy structured flannel button skirt is proving to be really popular. The classic, flattering pencil shape of the skirt touches on the ladylike trend, while the colour and buttons give it a military edge. Wear with military inspired jackets and striped Breton-style tops.

Is there a particular celebritys style you admire and why?
I love the way Kate Middleton, who used to work for the brand, dresses she mixes traditional classics with more eclectic pieces to create a preppy look with a twist.

What is your best buy at the moment?
I really love our boucl cloque pencil skirt. It is a Chanel-inspired plaid skirt in purple with hints of green, grey and navy. It comes with a matching jacket and can be dressed up for the evening or worn with one of our merino wool jumpers for work wear.

Is there anything you would suggest for the guys?
Jigsaw doesnt sell mens clothing but Bentalls has a fantastic menswear department with exclusive brands such as Gieves & Hawkes, Thomas Pink and Aquascutum.

If someone was going to buy one key item for this season, what should it be?
I would suggest a transitional piece such as our moleskin double-breasted military seam jacket. The acid green colour will add a splash of colour to your winter wardrobe and still be on-trend for spring. The crest buttons and intricate stitching also add interesting details.

Is there anyone in Surrey whose style you particularly like?
I love the Country Living look adopted by so many of Surreys residents. Jigsaw was founded in Kew and very much caters to the lifestyle of a Surrey woman. There is a feeling of tradition and heritage with a slight edge and quirkiness.

In the competitive fashion industry, what do you think are the ingredients for success?
I think in the current economic climate, everyone wants key style staples they can wear again and again in different ways and through the seasons. Our range of LBDs, tissue thin cashmere and merino wool jumpers are very popular as people know they will never go out of style. Customers can always trust the high quality of our clothes and accessories.

What would be your top tip for people visiting your store?
Bentalls offer a free, no obligation personal shopping service. The personal stylists search the rails while the customer relaxes in the lovely personal shopping suite. They are really great at understanding customers lifestyles and shapes and how to dress them accordingly.
