What would you say are the key trends for this season?
Chunky knits worn with leggings or jeggings with knee-high boots. Plenty of jewel colours, purple and teal are also hot for this season. Oh, and watch out for snoods they are coming back big time!
Which do you think will be your best-selling item this month?
Definitely knitwear, now that its getting cold. One of our favourites is the Babs jumper from new fashion range GIVe, which was launched in store at the start of October. This item has beautiful studded detail, which is another big trend this season.
What are your three hottest brands/labels in the store?
Our new brand GIVe by George Davies, with its inspirational designs, has definitely filled a gap in the market. Laura Ashley, also new to the store for autumn/winter, has a classic and contemporary design to suit any occasion. And Joules for its quirky colours and designs. Its great for all seasons and is prized for great attention to detail. Plus, their fabulous wellies will brighten up any dull and rainy day!
Is there a particular celebritys style you admire and why?
Jennifer Aniston is always understated but stylish.
What would you say is your best buy at the moment?
It would have to be our NYDJ Tummy Tuck jeans. Although a little pricey, they give you an instantly flatter stomach and a lovely silhouette definitely a pair of jeans worth investing in!
Is there anything you would recommend for the guys?
Ben Sherman looks great this season, with classic T-shirts and chunky knit grandad cardies, which are great for guys who like to pride themselves on looking good.
If someone was going to buy one key item for this season, what should it be?
The one key item for this season is a faux fur coat. They have been heavily featured in many top fashion magazines such as Grazia. GIVe, for example, do a particularly elegant faux fur coat, which is a must-have for the winter.
Is there anyone in Surrey whose style you particularly admire?
Dame Judi Dench is a very classic and elegant lady.
In the competitive fashion industry, what do you think are the ingredients for success?
Keeping up with current trends, offering first class service and exceeding customers expectations every time. Also, making a fashion department easy to shop around and well merchandised.
What would be your top tip for people visiting your store?
Enjoy a home-made scone and latte in our own coffee shop before embarking on a unique shopping experience around our beautiful store, where you can take in the delights of new fashion ranges GIVe and Laura Ashley, as well as other top brands such as Radley, Hobbs, Dents and Fenn Wright Manson.
