Brooklands Spa

Brooklands Spa

Over the past few weeks, Surrey Life beauty editor Adele Mitchell has been hard at work researching the best spas in Surrey (it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it). What is more, she has also found us some fabulous reader offers along the way...

Amida Spa

David Lloyd Club, Monkton Lane, Farnham GU9 9ND Tel: 01252 731342 /

I love this spa. A finalist in the Professional Beauty Awards 2013, the 1,200sqm ultra-modern space features six luxurious treatment rooms with therapies from around the world, a nail bar and pedi-spas plus a wonderfully light and airy Wet Spa with a 25m lap pool, five indoor and outdoor saunas (and I’ve visited them all!), steam rooms, relaxation rooms, a salt grotto, plunge pool, ice chute, tepidarium, hydrotherapy pool and a salt pool. It’s worth staying for a spot of healthy lunch at the fantastic spa bar too. Amida offers a true spa experience that leaves you feeling totally relaxed and invigorated.

Clay Spa

4 High Street, Oxshott KT22 0JP Tel: 01372 576772 /

This Oxshott-based retreat is loved by premier football players and celebrities alike, as well as anyone who wants to take time out for a spot of pampering or benefit from the latest anti-aging treatments. Providing a unique blend of traditional and advanced therapies, both high-tech and holistic, the highly trained team of caring therapists, doctor and semi-permanent make-up artist will nurture you through the process of restoring and rejuvenating both the body and mind – with each treatment tailored to meet your needs. You’ll be in expert hands!

Brooklands Spa

Brooklands Hotel, Brooklands Drive, Weybridge KT13 0SL Tel: 01932 335700 /

Residing on the third floor of this stylish hotel, the spa’s huge windows offer views across the Brooklands track: so if you’re thinking of persuading your man to join you, then this could be your best bet (alternatively, pack him off to neighbouring Mercedes Benz World while you get your nails done). It’s a huge spa with a great range of treatments including Lubatti and Jane Scrivner. The Little Miss Beautiful Range is designed for teenage girls and offers everything from facials to designer nails with the added bonus of being treated like a pampered princess for the day. And who wouldn’t want that? (luckily, they do a Miss n Mum spa package too!).

Foxhills Healthspa

Foxhills Club & Resort, Stonehill Road, Ottershaw KT16 0EL Tel: 01932 704555 /

Foxhills brings together the very essence of health, wellbeing and spa with classic countryside escapism. Nestled within this family-owned resort, it is home to nine treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness area, thermal hammam and rasul suites, therapeutic steam room, 30m lagoon pool, Swedish sauna and remote spa gazebo for couple or teen beauty treatments. The spa garden with hot tub has been recently enhanced for winter with cosy seating areas, fur blankets, patio heaters, lanterns and a fire pit. Oh, and you can enjoy a signature hot chocolate (with shavings of Belgium chocolate) while you’re out there. Bliss.

Grayshott Spa

Headley Road, Grayshott, near Hindhead GU26 6JJ Tel: 01428 602020 /

No Surrey spa review would be complete without the ‘grande dame’ of spas that is Grayshott. For 50 years, this beautiful estate has provided a retreat for those looking to get fit, recuperate or just escape the stresses of everyday life. It is a unique environment with an award-winning reputation for the quality of its therapies and treatments. The in-house team includes therapists, fitness professionals, health consultants and nutritionalists, and they offer everything from spa days to health programmes and even residential breaks.

Champneys Day Spa

194 High Street, Guildford GU1 3HZ Tel: 01483 455 850 /

Fabulously convenient and a beautiful space too, step off the High Street and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Champneys Day Spa experience. The Guildford spa is one of only eight Champneys day spas in the UK and it offers luxury treatment rooms, pampering therapies and special events as well as those everyday must-haves such as manicures, pedicures and St Tropez tanning treatments.
For those little spa luxuries back at home, you’ll find the Champneys Spa Collection, plus a wide range of products from high-end beauty companies such as Elemis and Decleor.

Amarna Spa

Lythe Hill Hotel, Petworth Road, Haslemere GU27 3BQ Tel: 01428 744860 /

Set in 20 acres of woodland on the slopes of the Surrey/Sussex Hills, the former farmhouse and outbuildings of Lythe Hill hotel, restaurant and spa form a picturesque hamlet on the outskirts of the market town of Haslemere. Among this attractive scene, you’ll find the Amarna Spa, where you can enjoy a 16m swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room and – if you are feeling particularly daring – cool off under a cold tempura shower. The spa works with ESPA, one of the world’s leading brands, to offer everything from relaxing facials and massage to holistic and express treatments.

The Spa at Pennyhill Park

London Road, Bagshot GU19 5EU Tel: 01276 486100 /

This vast – 45,000 sq ft – spa is quite staggeringly grand. Get lost (almost literally in my case!) in the eight indoor and outdoor ozone treated pools (one with underwater music), thermal heaven heat experience (featuring 11 rooms of different temperatures including herbal saunas, steam rooms and a plunge pool and ice cave), fitness suite, nine-hole golf course, jogging trail, tennis court and 21 luxurious and spacious treatment rooms. Despite the size, attention to detail is key: the changing rooms, for instance, feature a valet service, sofas, fresh fruit and even hair straighteners. There’s also a really nice restaurant: although with so much relaxing to do you might not have much time to eat!

The Spa at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel

3 Alexandra Terrace, High Street, Guildford GU1 3DA Tel: 01483 792304 /

I spent a blissful morning here relaxing around the pool and enjoying the sauna and steam room before indulging in a fantastic facial from a gifted therapist. This is a small but beautifully designed and serene urban retreat with five treatment rooms, a light airy gym and a relaxing wet and thermal area to unwind in. Once inside this bijoux cocoon of a spa, it’s hard to believe you’re just a (hot!) stone’s throw from busy Guildford. I promise you won’t be in a hurry to leave!

Trueskin Medispa

101a High Street, Esher KT10 9QE Tel: 0844 326 0053 /

This spa offers solutions for all skin conditions and skin types, as well as providing a relaxing haven away from home. It’s ideal for those looking for some ‘me’ time as well as those seeking advanced skin treatments and aesthetic treatments: the full treatment menu includes dermal fillers, wrinkle relaxing injections, 3D lipo, Elemis body treatments, spa packages,
tattoo removal, massage and manicures and pedicures – among many others! Located in a mews house in the centre of Esher, Trueskin offers six private treatment rooms and a large, airy relaxation area to enjoy at the end of your treatment.
