BBC News and Classic FM presenter Nicholas Owen was guest of honour at the launch of the brand new Surrey Hills Community Radio station.
Throughout the evening, the great and the good of the region popped in to have a look at the new studio and join in the celebrations.
The internet-based community station, conceived by local actor Graham Pountney, will be managed and presented by local people and will feature programmes aimed at all ages.
The launch programme was presented by studio manager Andy Newbold, a regular Surrey Life photographer, who invited Reigate resident Nicholas Owen to share some of his experiences.
After the launch programme, 16-year-old Josh Lawton presented the first official show – a soon to be regular Friday night music show.
BGT2013 Semi-finalist Philip W Green also made an appearance in between running his Dorking dance class and heading off to a gig in Shepperton.
The station, which is a not-for-profit organisation and reliant on volunteers, hopes to become a valuable resource throughout Surrey.
