So how is life after X Factor?

I haven't stopped for even a second, what with live gigs every day for the sponsors (Carphone Warehouse) and preparing for The X Factor live shows - I love it!

And how have things changed?

I can't even buy orange juice from the store without the paparazzi following me! I get lots of support, though, from people just walking down the street. It's great!

Do you plan to stay in Surrey and make your home here?

I've been in Ashtead for nearly a year, and love it here, but now I will probably have to relocate nearer to London. I will still come out here, though - to breathe!

What do you think of Alexandra - was she the right person to win?

Alexandra was the best singer of the competition and she was done justice by the British public. She deserved to win.

Which is your favourite version of Hallelujah?

Mine! ... but it didn't come out!

Have you signed a record deal yet?

Nothing will be done until after the tour but I believe there
is interest.

Any gigs planned in Surrey?

I hope so, yes. I am gigging all over the place at the moment and, yes, I hope to do some in Surrey.

What about the big concerts next year - GuilFest or Glastonbury?

Yes, Guilfest (huge smile!). I'd love to do it.

So what do you think about Leona Lewis?

I love her - she is the best! Well, next to Alexandra (Burke), of course!

You and Danni Minogue seemed to get on very well - do you think you will you stay friends?

Yes, of course. We speak nearly every day on the phone.

Okay, so what about Simon Cowell? There seemed to be a bit of chemistry there between you?!

You know, Simon's a great guy and he is very supportive. I don't know... maybe he fancied me a bit (coy smile)!

How did the judges get on generally?

They are so passionate about their acts and they are fighting to keep their acts' dreams alive. Sometimes it gets heated - they are just so passionate about what they do.

Okay, so back here in Surrey, what's your favourite place to hang out?

Ashtead, of course!

And the best shop?

The butcher's on the high street - and the running shop I go to (Run to Live).

Where do you like to eat?

My kitchen! I love to cook, especially Thai food.

So what about the best pub?

The one on the end of the high street...

The Lomac? The Leg of Mutton & Cauliflower?

Yes, that's the one.

And what's your favourite view in Surrey?

Oh, from my backyard in Ashtead, because it's so quiet and you can see the sky. It's so clear here.

So what are your plans for the rest of this year?

Sing, sing and sing... and a holiday with Alexandra!

And, finally, where do you see yourself in a year's time?

Gigging all over the world!

Thank you very much... By the way, we think you should have won (and not just because you live in Surrey!)

Thank you!
