Surrey has always been something of a motoring mad county (think Brooklands, Mike Hawthorn, McLaren, Damon Hill etc), so it perhaps isn’t surprising that it’s here you’ll find a luxury British brand crafting timeless art.

“GRE Classics was inspired by my pioneering late grandfather, Sir George Robert Edwards,” says founder and owner, Clair Jeffreys.

“He was a genius aviation engineer, designer and great business leader. A name synonymous with some of the greatest pioneering advances in civil military and supersonic aviation, including the Bouncing Bomb, Valiant, Viscount and VC-10, as well as his skilled leadership of the British team Concorde project.”

It’s with this heritage that Clair set out to create something very special and unique, which represented her grandfather’s strong values and had traces of his “DNA”. As such Lower Kingswood’s GRE Classics is all about the best of British and attention to detail, and the result is a beautiful model collection.

“Each model consists of just over 100 parts and takes approx 60 hours to make,” says Clair. “I do the final assembly, quality control checks, polish and sign off at my workshop, which takes a further four hours.”

Such attention to detail allows all the models to be unique for each client – and the clients tend to be high net worth, usually men and often from overseas.

“However the beauty, quality and romance of my creations make each model highly desirable for anyone or any age,” says Clair.

“Having been designed and tested for children, the models are a perfect ‘luxury first car’ for the young motorist aged two-five years old. Yet, for the man who has everything these make a lovely collectable gift and then for a special couple the GRE Windsor would make a truly unique wedding present.”

With their timeless design and stunning finishes, they also make for a perfect statement piece for any luxury home or executive office.
