If I want to go to the cinema…

I have to search really hard for a decent cinema to go to, though there’s a really nice one in Berkhampstead. London has some terrific independent cinemas of course. Screen on the Green is hard to beat!

The last film I saw was…

Anna Karenina. It isn’t really Tolstoy’s classic, but I love the overt theatricality of it.

For my theatre fix, I like to…

Catch anything by Robert Lepage. Seven Streams of the River Ota is over six hours long but, believe it or not, it isn’t long enough! You leave the theatre wanting more.

If I get the chance to go to a concert…

I am lucky enough to work at G Live, with a great variety of fantastic music! At heart, I’m a rock music fan, so guitar bands sit at the top of my list, but I’m also really looking forward to our classical concert season, which opens with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Thursday October 8.

I’m currently reading…

Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Really!

The last time I went to my local library…

Was when my wife couldn’t. She is always in there and picks things up for me. Go to your local library! If we don’t use them we’ll lose them, and they are fantastic for books, printed material, internet access, and information of any sort really.

At home, I’m most likely to be listening to…

Madlib, or otherwise dipping into my extensive vinyl collection. I’ve just been listening to an old Be Bop Deluxe album from 1974.

Whereas in the car, I generally listen to…

Radio 4. I’ve lived in Canada and Australia, and I can tell you, the BBC is one of the greatest gifts of living in the UK.

The TV programme I never miss is…

Anything with Matt Berry in it.

My favourite cultural event in Surrey is…

The Local Bands Showcase at G Live, which we co-produce with Eagle Radio. There’s such brilliant talent in Surrey.
