TV and radio presenter Chris Evans raced into The Supercar Event at Dunsfold Park, the home of Top Gear, in his new LaFerrari this weekend.

One of the highlights of the event, which helps to raise funds for The Children’s Trust, saw five auction winners enjoy a thrilling ride round the track with the star.

To the crowd’s excitement, one of the winners offered his ride up to a child and eight-year-old Jake Dabbs from Knaphill was chosen by Chris Evans from a sea of waving hands.

“I was over the moon when Jake was picked out of the crowd,” said Jake’s dad, Rob. “I would like to thank the winner for the fantastic opportunity.”

Thanks to the generosity of Chris Evans, the five rides in his LaFerrari raised £5,000.

“The Supercar Event is a truly magnificent event,” says Chris, who was attending for the second time.

“With each year, the weather gets better, the smiles get wider and the piggy-bank gets fuller. I can’t believe how much there is going on and it is a credit to The Children’s Trust, their volunteers and generous drivers.”

Other stars who attended included Elaine Paige, vice president of The Children’s Trust, television handyman Craig Phillips and actor Dean Gaffney.

The Supercar Event, now in its eighth year, attracted 16,000 visitors and is expected to raise over £85,000 for The Children’s Trust.

Drivers from Club Scuderia, Petrolhead Nirvana and individual owners provided a unique experience of thrilling once-in-a-lifetime passenger rides in 140 supercars over the two days.
