Surrey Life writer Nicholas Owen started the Childrens Trusts Sleepwalk on Saturday October 1 at Priory Park, Reigate as over 350 walkers showed their support for the Tadworth-based charity.

Staff at Mela restaurant in Redhill provided a welcome break of hot-food and refreshments at the half-way point of the 10-mile walk, before groups of families, friends and work colleagues continued their journey back to the park.

The aim of Sleepwalk was not only to raise money, but also awareness that children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, who need round-the-clock care, rarely have the luxury of a good nights sleep.
