Legendary Beatle Sir Paul McCartney joined The Royal Marsden's latest campaign last month as he celebrated his 71st birthday by donating it to the cancer charity.
Within an hour of him donating his birthday, it sent The Royal Marsden twitter into frenzy with nearly 1,000 retweets and donations to The Royal Marsden.
The ‘donate your birthday’ campaign is a very simple plan where celebrity supporters post a message on their Twitter page around the time of their birthday to help raise awareness for the charity. Fans and followers can then click on the link that will take them to a Just Giving page.
The charity launched a new campaign called ten10 back in January to mark its 10th year, having raised over £100million to date and also looking forward to the next 10 years of innovation and cancer treatment.
