Farnham Maltings' annual international festival of knitting, unravel, will return for its fifth year on Saturday February 23 and Sunday February 24.

Since its launch in 2009, the festival has fast become one of the leading independent events for knitting and crochet enthusiasts.Last year, 2,500 people attended over the two days.


Sponsored by textiles magazine Selvedge and supported by Farnhams own Interknit Caf, the festival is a chance to share in the wonder of all things woollen.


Visitors will be able to attend a programme of talks, demonstrations, and workshops led by well-known names in the textiles industry, as well as purchase yarn, buttons and other accessories from both leading retailers and smaller, artisan producers.


Experts will be on hand to solve knitting quandaries, and visitors will be encouraged to enter their creations into the Best in Show competition.


Arts centre Farnham Maltings, which is situated at the heart of this historic market town, will be transformed into a woollen wonderland for the weekend.


Knitting graffiti will adorn the venue and also public spaces in the surrounding area, created by a group of guerrilla knitters.
