Chosen by artist Frank Taylor and his wife Christine who live at Fircroft, an early Victorian house on Albury Heath, the Fircroft Winter Exhibition brings together the work of more than forty-five artists and makers from all over the country.

On show is work by ceramicists, painters, printmakers, sculptors, glass makers, silvermiths and jewellers, mainly full time professionals and all highly regarded in their particular fields.

This Winter Exhibition 2014 highlights four new exhibitors and two popular artists returning after a few years.

Keith Morton shows a selection of his exceptional still life oil paintings and Shauna Stanton exhibits her stunning, colourful and highly imaginative watercolours.

New this year, painter Annie Boisseau is showing atmospheric landscape oil paintings. April Doubleday (‘The Ethical Jeweller’) from North Devon uses fair-trade and fair-minded certified gold in her contemporary jewellery, her designs being inspired by coastline rock formations and the sea.

Ceramicist Sally Reilly, now working in the Sancerre region of France, served an apprenticeship in Paris following the methods of Japanese potter Tanimoto Kei and the philosophy of Bernard Leach. On display are examples of her skills from functional tableware to spectacular exhibition pieces.

Sculptor Marc Hammond ‘the leafsmith’ shows examples of his copper work.

The exhibition also features new work by familiar exhibitors, the venerable and famous, the whacky and the traditional. Artists long established and those emerging are all mixed into the Fircroft experience: ceramicists Pru Green, Chris Bull, Kim Lim and Lise B Moorcroft (fourth generation of the famous Moorcroft family) are showing alongside John Maltby, who is widely regarded as this country’s foremost ceramic sculptor.

If you have driven past the road signs but have not yet ventured in to have a look, why not visit this year? Entry is free.

• The Fircroft Winter Exhibition runs from Saturday November 22 to Sunday November 30, 11am to 5pm daily, at Fircroft, off New Road, Albury Heath GU5 9DD. For more information, visit
