Celebrating the tenth anniversary of Surrey Artists Open Studios: Saturday June 5 to Sunday June 20
East Clandon based sculptor Terri Smart has taken part in Surrey Artists Open Studios since it started ten years ago.
Today, she continues to create all kinds of sculptural ceramic pieces, from quirky animals and birds, through boats on the high seas, to large organic sculptures.
My proudest achievement to date was being accepted to show at RHS Wisley, says the 59-year-old. And this year selling the sculpture on show with three further commissions for a similar piece.
Terris pottery workshop, nestling next to the garage of Cherry Cottage, in East Clandon, affords a peaceful view over open fields of Surrey.
For Terri, the best thing about Surrey Artists Open Studios, which takes place in June, is the freedom to visit other artists in their studios, knowing you are not being a nuisance.
For this years event, I plan to make some tenth anniversary edition tableware decorated with ones and zeros, she adds.
And we look forward to seeing it!
