Since opening in 2011, G Live has hosted everything from international orchestras to New Year’s Eve balls, hilarious comedians to rock ‘n’ roll legends.

The quickest selling show at the venue was Paul Weller who sold out in 10 minutes when the Ticket Desk received over 10,000 calls. Weller had always said that when the new entertainment venue was built he’d play again in his home county and the G Live staff held him to his word! G Live is quickly becoming a favourite amongst performers with the classical cellist Julian Lloyd Webber describing it as a “vibrant new arts centre”.

Forthcoming highlights:

Comedian, novelist, actor, broadcaster, university chancellor, show-off and national treasure, Sandi Toksvig returns to G Live on Friday October 25 at 8pm after her previous sell-out performance.

Led by three former Phantoms of the Opera, the Three Phantoms will take you on a thrilling ride of musical theatre hits from the West End and Broadway on Tuesday November 12 at 8pm.

Seen by over 22 million people worldwide, the West End sensation Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story is coming to Guildford from Thursday November 28 to Saturday November 30 (times vary).

Built in 1986, The Harlequin Theatre is named after the ‘commedia dell’arte’ character and is a fantastic entertainment venue in the heart of Redhill.

Recent highlights on the big stage include Pam Ayres, Harry Hill, Elkie Brooks, Mark Steel, The Circus of Horrors, Horrible Histories and Tim Vine.

Their Waller Cinema shows all the latest big screen releases at very reasonable prices. The Saturday Morning Cinema Club screenings (term-time) provide some family favourites or, if you have a new addition to your family, the Baby Club screenings allow you to take your little one without the worry of disturbing others.

Having been built for several local organisations, including the Leith Hill Musical Festival, Dorking Halls opened in 1931. Following a major refurbishment in 1997, the venue now combines very modern facilities with the ambience and style of the original art deco building. In recent years, Dorking Halls has built up an enviable reputation as one of the leading venues in the region to see the best in comedy talent, playing host to many top comedians including Russell Brand and Micky Flanagan. In addition to live entertainment, the venue now has three digital cinema screens, too, showing new films every day.

Following a smash hit UK tour in 2012, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is back in this ground-breaking new stage production on Sunday November 3 at 7.30pm.

After last season’s successful performances of Madam Butterfly and Swan Lake, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back with The Nutcracker on Thursday November 21 at 8pm with a large, live orchestra.

The Halls welcomes rock band The Darkness on Wednesday December 11 at 7pm as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of their number one debut album Permission to Land.

The Electric Theatre

Celebrating its centenary this year, The Electric Theatre is housed in an old electricity works built in 1913. A number of the original features remain in the auditorium to this day. This popular venue is home to a number of festivals and events, including an international film festival three times a year, a half-term family festival packed full of events, the Guildford Book Festival and spring music festivals. Alongside this is their usual programme of comedy clubs, live music, musicals, plays and everything in between.

A festival week full of events suitable for families with children aged from newborn up to eight years takes place from Monday October 28 to Saturday November 2.

The much-loved TV comic Lee Hurst will be unpicking the things that rile us and make us want to scream, in his hotly-anticipated UK tour, on Thursday November 28 at 8pm.

The hit improv musical theatre show The Showstoppers comes to Guildford on Saturday November 30 at 7.30pm – all-singing, all-dancing and very funny.

The critically acclaimed theatre company Transport reinvents Shakespeare’s As You Like It on Thursday November 7 at 7.30pm.
