The National Trust have announced that the road will be closed from Friday to Monday to all but essential traffic

In an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus the Zig Zag road at Box Hill will be closed from Friday April 10 to Monday April 13. This closure includes cycling.

After the long weekend car parks in the area will remain closed.

National Trust Countryside Manager Andrew Wright said: “Working in partnership with Surrey County Council and Surrey Police, we are closing the Zig Zag road at Box Hill for the Easter long weekend, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“The road will be closed to all but essential traffic. All our car parks remain closed, please do not drive or cycle to Box Hill for your daily exercise.

“We’re sorry if this is disappointing news, but hope you understand. We look forward to welcoming you back once it is safe to do so.”

The National Trust will be running a number of at-home activities for the Easter break including a scavenger hunt and other family-friendly things to keep you occupied.
