Women's Rugby World Cup brings international competition to Guildford

An international tournament showcasing the best of women's rugby is all set to kick off this month, with Guildford's Surrey Sports Park hosting the teams and early fixtures from Friday August 20
An internationaltournament showcasing the best of womens rugby is all set to kick off this month, with Guildfords Surrey Sports Park hosting the teams and early fixtures.
From Friday August 20, twelve teams, including defending champions New Zealand, will compete to be named the best side in the world at the sixth Womens Rugby World Cup.
The showpiece tournament launches at the new multi-million pound Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, with all the pool games staged in Surreys county town.
Twickenhams The Stoop, home of Guinness Premiership side Harlequins, will then provide a fitting finale to the tournament with the semi finals and final staged at the 14,200 capacity stadium.
Surrey Sports Park is also doubling up as the athlete's village for all 12 teams competing in the tournament.
