The Party: 500 years of Hampton Court Palace

Celebrate Hampton Court Palace’s 500th anniversary with a spectacular son et lumière show on the south façade with fireworks. Tuesday April 7, 3pm

Time to Talk with Dame Jacqueline Wilson

National Gardens Open Day at RHS Wisley

The Loseley Spring Garden Show

Military Ancestry Roadshow

Do you have medals, items of uniform, photos, letters or other ephemera from your family’s military past? Surrey History Centre’s panel of experts will help you identify them at their Military Ancestry Roadshow, which forms part of Surrey Libraries’ War and Words programme of commemorative events for the World War One centenary. Guildford Art Society Spring Exhibition

This exhibition is an opportunity to see artwork and sculpture by every member of Guildford Art Society and to enjoy the range of artistic skills we have in and around our county town. Investec Spring Meeting

Celebrate spring and the start of the season with an afternoon of thrilling racing at Epsom Downs Racecourse’s Investec Spring Meeting. The feature race is the Investec Derby Trial, which is not only worth £50,000 to the winner but also offers them automatic entry into the Investec Derby itself.

Leatherhead Drama Festival

The long-running festival comes to a close after a packed diary of performances with the Sir Michael Caine Drama Awards, which are presented to the two winning drama groups (junior and senior) as well as the best actors and actresses.

An Evening with Lisa Armstrong and Prof Aileen Riberio

Join these esteemed fashion experts at Compton’s Watts Gallery to hear how art inspires fashion. The evening also includes an opportunity to view the exhibition Liberating Fashion: Aesthetic Dress in Victorian Portraits, which runs until Sunday June 7. Tickets: £9.50.

Shades of Bohemia

The Surrey Hills International Music Festival opens its sixth concert season at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking. The evening features French Horn player Han Xiaoming; much-loved clarinettist Michael Collins; BBC Young Generation Artist Leonard Elschenbroich; Lincoln Centre Chamber Music Centre of New York pianist Wu Qian; and violinists Alexander Sitkovetsky and Natalie Klouda. The evening concludes with Dohnanyi’s Sextet. Tickets: Adults, £26; under 21s, £10.
