The Surrey Hills beat hundreds of other locations around the United Kingdom to come in second place behind Loch Ness as one of Britain’s most photographed countryside attractions

Analysis of more than 100,000 photographs shared on Instagram last summer from countryside locations in Britain found Surrey Hills to be one of the most photographed attractions in the United Kingdom. There were 4,888 photographs of the Surrey Hills shared online last summer.

The ten most photographed countryside attractions in order are:

1. Loch Ness, Inverness - 11,382 photographs shared last summer

2. Surrey Hills, Surrey - 4,888 photographs shared last summer

3. Hadrian’s Wall - 3,504 photographs shared last summer

4. Helvellyn Peak, Lake District - 2,479 photographs shared last summer

5. Tryfan, Snowdonia - 1,480 photographs shared last summer

6. Malham Cove, North Yorkshire - 1,422 photographs shared last summer

7. Stanage Edge, Peak District - 1,352 photographs shared last summer

8. Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire - 1,350 photographs shared last summer

9. Three Cliffs Bay, Swansea - 1,107 photographs shared last summer

10. Blencathra, Lake District - 1,050 photographs shared last summer
