The inaugural Cranleigh Music Festival saw local resident and renowned opera singer Kathryn Harries steal the show.

Raising money for Local Youth Matters, which aims to give grants to worthwhile youth projects in the Cranleigh area, the two-day event was hosted by radio presenter Diddy David Hamilton.

As the event reached its crescendo, out came the flags, and a spectacular firework finale lit up the Cranleigh night sky.

I am grateful to everyone who helped to put on this event for the first time and all who attended, said Colin Young, the man behind the festival. Hopefully, they will tell all their friends what a marvellous occasion this was and join us again next year.
