The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst will host the event of the winter season on Saturday November 3, 2012.

The Cohort Ball, an event in aid of Motor Neurone Disease, is your chance to take a peak inside the world renowned Academy that has trained British Army Officers for 200 years.

The story behind The Cohort Ball is simple, explains organiser Gemma Holsgrove. Its Friday November 25, 2011. Im having dinner with my life-long friend. Ive known for a while now that his mother has MND, an incurable disease. But up until this point, it hasnt hit home.

He is 23. Hes a fighter. He is the single most positive and incredible person I know. For over a year, he has been fighting the inevitable reality of life without his beloved mother. A daily battle. An internal struggle that not even his best friend knows the depths of.

We finish our meal. I ask how he is doing. For the first time, he looks at me and instead of positivity, I see utter devastation in his eyes. Reality hits me. His battle has only just begun.

The outcome of that night is The Cohort Ball: www.thecohortball.com

For one night only, guests are invited into one of Britains most iconic institutions. On arrival you will be escorted into New College, with the classical tunes of Salieri String Quartet accompanying as you explore the history and grandeur of this stunning setting.

Other acts include the Famous Five Band, and an acoustic set from 80s popstar Kim Wilde. There will fabulous food, a chance to bid on some priceless items in our live auction and plenty of military infused surprises and celebrity appearances to make this a night not to be missed.

  • Tickets are 85 each, or buy a table before Sunday October 7 and receive the early bird offer of 750 for a table 10. To be a part of this one-off event, visitwww.thecohortball.com.
