Having gained the highest score in the county for their entry into the large village category, Tatsfield scooped the Surrey Life trophy at the annual South & South East in Bloom awards this month.

Other Surrey winners included Farnham in Bloom who won a gold award in the large town section and Limpsfield Parish Council Garden Group who scooped an outstanding award in the Its Your Neighbourhood category.

Winning this award is great for all the volunteers who contributed, said Bob David, who collected Tatsfields award with Angela Sawyers.

The support and spirit from the community is shown in the quality of displays done by the craftsmen, artists and horticulturists. This is the 17th year we have entered and its always nice to see the village looking clean and attractive.

BBC gardener Chris Collins presented the awards, which celebrate horticulture and gardening, environmental responsibility and community participation, at a ceremony held at Ferneham Hall in Fareham.
