The star-studded A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards (aka The Millies) was held at the Imperial War Museum back in December.

A huge television audience of almost five million watched on as the annual ceremony transformed the famous London attraction into a sparkling, red carpet occasion.

Behind the scenes, a family-owned events company usually based on a farm in Churt was pulling the strings for the third year in a row.

ESC Events owners John and Clare Wickens and their team put on the glamour-filled evening with a host of celebrated guests, including Prince Charles, David Beckham and David Cameron.

Our biggest challenge was to create an event that was bigger and better than last year, with a very short build and strike period, says John.

The museum is open to the public all year round but, thanks to the very special nature of The Millies, they agreed to close the museum for one day to allow us enough time to put it together.

With guests seated for dinner, the 11 awards were presented by Amanda Holden and Philip Schofield and followed by was a moving speech from Prince Charles, who created the awards.
