Surrey attraction chosen for Netflix’s The Crown filming location

This museum in Weybridge was given the royal treatment as a filming location for the record-breaking Netflix drama

The cast and crew from Netflix’s wildly popular biopic series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, The Crown, descended upon Weybridge’s Brooklands Museum to film for the fourth series.

Filming finished at the aviation and motoring museum in March ready for the series’ air date of 15th November. The latest series, which covers 1979 to 1990 and includes Margaret Thatcher’s Prime Ministership and the story of Princess Diana, is already available to view on the streaming platform.

Two scenes, which can be seen in episodes nine and 10, feature the Brooklands Concorde from both the exterior and interior.

The series explores the relationship of Princess Diana and the Queen’s son HRH Prince Charles, from its inception to its downfall, with the scenes involving the concorde depicting a poignant flight to New York taken by Princess Diana.

Brooklands Museum will reopen for visitors after the lockdown from 2nd December.
