A unique film festival, curated by Ronnie Corbett and Lord Julian Fellowes, who will both make special appearances themselves, is set to run at the David Lean Cinema at Croydon Clocktower this month.

For 16 years, the cinema has been a shining light of high quality, independent arts provision in the area but will sadly close its doors at the end of the month due to funding cuts.

Far from going quietly, however, the 68-seat cinema is celebrating its 16 years of cinematic excellence with a very special film festival entitled The Last Picture Show, running from Friday April 1 until Thursday April 21.

It wasnt hard to think of the two men we should ask to curate our goodbye festival and it is a rather fine stroke of luck that they both agreed, says programme manager, Sam Hunt.

The Last Picture Show is our way of saying thank you to everyone for their years of support.

On Wednesday April 6, Julian Fellowes will visit the cinema to talk about his feature film directorial debut, Separate Lies, while on Tuesday April 19, Ronnie Corbett will chat about his selection and introduce David Leans Brief Encounter.
