Troops marking the end of a six month operational tour in Afghanistan marched through the Elmbridge town of Esher on Friday February 17.

Troops marking the end of a six month operational tour in Afghanistan marched through the Elmbridge town of Esher on Friday February 17.


People lined the High Street to watch 7 Parachute Regiment Royal Artillery on their way to Sandown Park, and flags adorned shops in patriotic celebration.


Involved in the marchwere 7 Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, The King's Troop RHA, The Royal Artillery Band, veterans and Surrey Army Cadet Force.


The Duchess of Cornwall later met service personnel at Sandown Park, where the Royal Artillery Gold Cup, a race open to horses owned or leased by veterans of the armed forces, was run.
