One of Bollywood’s most eagerly awaited movies of the year, Azhar, features scenes shot at Banstead beauty spot, Mayfield Lavender.

The film, which depicts the rise and fall of Indian cricket hero Mohammad Azharuddin, is released in May.
Charting Azharuddin’s humble beginnings to his meteoric rise in the world of cricket, the biopic has been directed by Tony D’Souza.
“We are honoured and delighted that our farm stars in this new movie,” says Mayfield Lavender owner, Lorna Maye.
“It is in fact the second Indian film that has been shot in part here. In 2013, the field was used as a backdrop in Malayalam film, London Bridge.”
Azhar stars Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai in the lead roles.
Mayfield Lavender farm reopens to the public on Wednesday June 1. Entry is £1 per person.
