SURREY and England cricketer Mark Ramprakash attended a dinner to celebrate his Testimonial Year at The Farmhouse Pub in Langshott, near Horley.

Following the meal, the winner of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing 2006 answered many varied questions and gave some interesting insights into his career as a cricketer and ballroom dancer.

An auction and raffle followed, with proceeds going to Mark's chosen charities, including the Surrey-based CHASE children's hospice in Guildford - The Farmhouse's permanently nominated charity.

The Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Mrs. Dorothy A. Ross-Tomlin, was guest of honour at the dinner.

"Mark spoke to everyone personally and autographed lots of items for the guests," says the landlord of The Farmhouse, Jerry Hudson. "The evening ended at about one in the morning and everyone went home happy."
