Racegoers at Kempton Park Racecourse can now see a brand new statue of Kauto Star, which has been commissioned by his owner Clive Smith and created by equine sculptor and painter Charlie Langton.
The statue is located in the Parade Ring, an area of the racecourse that the Kempton legend paraded in following his record-breaking five King George victories - bettering the great Desert Orchid’s then record of four.
“We are very honoured to be able to display this fantastic statue of Kauto Star, a horse much loved by our racegoers at Kempton Park,” says Phil White, general manager at the racecourse.
“Everyone at our racecourse who has witnessed his feats in the King George VI steeple chase over the years feels privileged to have been here to be part of history. His achievements may never be equalled, he was that good.”
Widely heralded as one of the finest racehorses of all time, Kauto Star won thousands of fans and nationwide fame with his celebrated versatility, athleticism and longevity.
