Autumnwatch presenter Kate Humble helped launch a new sustainable tourism initiative at an event hosted in the Surrey Hills last week.

The Our Land campaign aims to raise awareness and boost economies within various Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the UK.

Hosted at The Merry Harriers in Hambledon, the event also featured appearances by South West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt and Visit England's chief executive James Berresford.

In the UK we have some of the worlds most beautiful landscapes on our doorstep, says Kate. Not only are these wonderful places to enjoy Britains nature at its best, they are also packed full of interesting stories about thousands of years of human life.

More than a third of the South East is officially classified as Protected Landscape this consists of two National Parks and seven AONB, including the Surrey Hills.

Our Land unites and celebrates the nine protected landscapes of the region in a new central tourism website at www.our-land.co.uk.
