The boy who never grew up, Peter Pan was a vision stirred by days spent in Tilford, where JM Barrie entertained the Llewelyn-Davies boys.

With the 75th anniversary of the author’s death in June, the picture on the right was kindly sent in to us by the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
It shows the writer’s celebrity cricket team, The Allahakbarries, at Black Lake in June 1905, with Michael Llewelyn-Davies as their mascot.
Keen-eyed readers will note JM Barrie is standing second from the left in the back row.
