French fancy grabs Reigate and Oxshott by the Gauls

A classic haunt for Francophiles in Reigate is joining forces to celebrate Gallic customs with like minded Oxshott pÃ©tanque players this month.
A classic haunt for Francophiles in Reigate is joining forces to celebrate Gallic customs with like minded Oxshott ptanque players this month.
La Barbe restaurant will be sponsoring the Oxshott Ptanque Business League competition that kicks off on Monday May 9, with eight localteams testing their skills.
Ptanque is growing in popularity across the country, says the Reigate restaurateur. The game originated in Provence, France in 1907, and has long been a pastime that I delight in.
The event, whichis hosted atOxshott Village Sports Club, is organised by the Oxshott Ptanque Club.
Teams will compete each Monday during the months of May and June and the finalists will meet on Monday July 4 to vie for thetop prize.
