  • Match of the Day host Gary Lineker lives in Esher with his wife, Danielle.

  • It was eight years ago that Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea FC and changed the face of a corner of Surrey forever with the opening of the clubs training ground in Stoke dAbernon. Now something of a football mecca, Abramovich has a home close by, while John Terry is one of the prominent squad members in the area.

  • Oxshott is home to former Tottenham and England midfielder Jamie Redknapp and his wife Louise.

  • Former Crystal Palace legends Ian Wright and Mark Bright are regulars at golfing events held at The Addington near Croydon, which is owned by the teams former chairman Ron Noades.

  • 1966 world cup hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst was Surreys original striker on the scene and still lives in Weybridge.

  • Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis has been a director of local football club, Walton & Hersham, since he started taking his children there when they were small. Meanwhile, the chairman of the club is human rights lawyer Michael Mansfield QC.

  • A football kicked across no mans land during the Battle of the Somme (pictured) is on display in the Surrey Infantry Museum, which is found at Clandon Park, East Clandon.
