Rock royalty took to the stage to cast its magic on a charity music concert near Bramley this month.

Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Ronnie Wood were among the stars to perform at Wintershall on Saturday June 6 for free to support a fundraising event in aid of HASTE, heart and stroke endeavour.

The black tie picnic concerts famously attract an all-star line-up and have raised several million pounds so far for charity but they are a rare treat the last one was staged in 2005.

Other Surrey-based rock stars including Roger Taylor, Gary Brooker and Kenney Jones (pick up Augusts Surrey Life for our interview with the Faces drummer) also played their part for the 3,500-strong crowd.

The picnic concert by the chapel on the lake is expected to have raised around 400,000 for the charity.
