Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show 2014
PUBLISHED: 09:32 05 August 2014 | UPDATED: 10:03 05 August 2014
One of the oldest traditional agricultural shows in the country, the annual Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show is back again for the August Bank Holiday weekend, on Sunday August 24 and Monday August 25, promising another great day out for all the family – and, what is more, children get in for free.
The 140-acre Ardenrun Showground, just off the A22 at Blindley Heath (six miles south of J6, M25), will feature all the usual family favourites plus some new attractions too.
One of the highlights this year will be two thrilling displays each day from the UK’s top motorcycle display team, The Bolddog Lings, with spectacular stunts to amaze the main ring crowds as part of this year’s action-packed timetable.
Also, new for this year, there will be barbecue cookery demonstrations with TV chef Richard Fox alongside the popular cookery school for children. Another new addition is Owls R Us, where visitors can learn about different breeds, and the Edenbridge Express, a fun timed competition for dogs on Bank Holiday Monday – just turn up on the day with your dog and enter. Also look out for the very popular Companion Dog Show and Terrier Racing on the same day.
In the Country Sports area, there is a chance to try out archery, clay shooting and fly fishing – all with advice from the experts. Adjacent are the farrier demonstrations where you can watch horses being shod.
The many other attractions include animals large and small, Heavy Horse Village, Polly’s Parrots Roadshow, gardening advice in the Horticultural Marquee, historic cars, food and beer tents, over 300 unusual shops, giant family board games, a fairground and, on the Monday, magnificent horse drawn carriages.
