Duchess of Cornwall meets War Horse in Esher

The Duchess of Cornwall visited Sandown Park racecourse to watch the 129th running of the Royal Artillery Gold Cup, one of two Military Days hosted by the Esher venue.

The Duchess of Cornwall visited Sandown Park racecourse to watch the 129th running of the Royal Artillery Gold Cup, one of two Military Days hosted by the Esher venue.


As well as enjoying the racing, HRH also enjoyed a performance by last years Christmas Number 1 band, The Military Wives Choir and also met the author of War Horse, Michael Murpurgo as well as the Topthorn puppet from the hit theatre production.


A total crowd of over 5,000 were in attendance over the half term break and, prior to racing, there was a military parade in Esher High Street.
