Croydon’s history and heritage will be celebrated with the launch of this year’s Croydon Heritage Festival on Saturday June 21.

Croydon Heritage Day will mark the start of the two week festival, which will see more than 100 events exploring and celebrating all corners of the borough’s rich and vibrant past.

The launch will take place from 11am to 4pm in North End, where there will be a live performance stage, heritage themed street performance, stalls run by local groups, tours of historical buildings, arts and crafts workshops and guided walks across the town centre.

The free event is being hosted by the 400-year-old Croydon charity, The Whitgift Foundation, and supported by the Croydon Partnership, the joint venture between Westfield and Hammerson to redevelop Croydon’s retail centre.
