Now starring over 150 of the world’s most exclusive motors, The Supercar Event at Dunsfold Park has welcomed everyone from new Top Gear host Chris Evans and musical star Elaine Paige to former F1 driver Max Chilton over the years – but the story begins with a heart-warming tale.

“Back in 2007, a group of Ferrari enthusiasts heard about a young girl from Surrey, who had suffered a brain injury as a result of a viral infection,” says Katie Roberts, head of voluntary fund-raising at The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with a brain injury, which is based in Tadworth.

“After being in a coma for two weeks, Becky Groves received rehabilitation here at The Children’s Trust. The specialist care she received helped Becky regain many of the skills she had lost, enabling her to return home.

“So to reward The Children’s Trust’s staff, children and their families, the group visited with their cars – and The Supercar Event was born!”

Now an action-packed entire weekend held at the aerodrome near Cranleigh, which is itself best-known as the home of Top Gear, last year The Supercar Event raised more than £120,000 for The Children’s Trust.

“The Supercar Event is amazing,” says Reigate-born racing driver Max Chilton. “It’s very rare that so many people can get up close and personal to some of the world’s most spectacular supercars. It’s the whole package on an iconic track and it’s a day out definitely not to be missed!”

2016 highlights

This year’s event, on Saturday July 2 and Sunday July 3, not only offers the opportunity to take a thrilling passenger ride in a supercar (including some of the world’s most expensive models of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens) from just £30, but also the chance to experience a breathtaking spin in a Caterham 7 on a specially-designed skidpan.

In addition, there is also a wide variety of attractions for all the family including helicopter flights, a fire engine, classic car rides and the Stay Safe Driving School for teenagers aged 14 and over, as well as plenty of refreshments (and a VIP marquee that’s perfect for corporate hospitality).

“It really is a fabulous event,” says Elaine Paige, an ambassador of The Children’s Trust. “I had a great time and can recommend the spin in a Caterham 7 – it’s a fantastic experience!”

So, if you’ve ever wanted a life in the fast lane like Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and co, The Supercar Event is surely the next best thing – and it’s all for an unbelievable cause, too. We’ll see you there!
