Comedywriter Mark OConnell, who grew up in Cranleigh and still lives in the area now, has a new book coming out to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond movies.

Written from the offbeat vantage point of a gay teenager whose grandfather was chauffeur to legendary 007 producer Cubby Broccoli, Catching Bullets: Memoirs of a Bond Fan is essentially a love-letter to James Bond. With the anniversary of the films taking place this month, its a timely one too.

Writer and actor Mark Gatiss, star of the BBC drama Sherlock,
has also penned the foreword to this forthcoming title from Splendid Books.

P.S. With the latest in the James Bond film franchise, Skyfall, set for release, take a lookback at when its filming came to Surrey.
