The Duchess met children and families supported by Shooting Star CHASE, a charity which cares for more than 650 families across London and Surrey who have a child with a life-limiting condition.

“We are honoured to have welcomed Her Royal Highness to Shooting Star House,” says Shooting Star CHASE’s chief executive, David Burland.

“The Duchess is a committed supporter of children’s hospices and showed great knowledge about our vital work supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families.”

As part of her visit The Duchess enjoyed a special afternoon tea with children and their families, observed a music therapy session and joined children in an arts and crafts activity.

“She spent a lot of time talking to the families and got involved in the music session and showed she has a good sense of humour,” says Alison from East Molesey, mum of Sam.

“We hadn’t told our children who was coming, we just said it was someone really special. They thought it was Mr Tumbles but they certainly weren’t disappointed when The Duchess walked in.”
