This winter's heavy snow had seen Cranleigh Arts Centre's annual Christmas charity concerts postponed until recently, but the two nights of star studded guest appearances proved well worth waiting for as Eric Clapton took centre stage.

The stage was graced by the art centre’s patron Paul Jones, followed by some unforgettable performances including Paul Cox, James Hunter and 60’s soul singer PP Arnold.

Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton, who lives in nearby Ewhurst, also made a surprise appearance, wowing the audience with three numbers, Little Walter’s Blues with a Feeling, his own Same Old Blues and Bo Diddley’s Before You Accuse Me.

“We’ve been to all the Paul Jones gigs, but this year was the best one so far!” said Diane Girling, a Cranleigh Arts Centre friends member

Money from the two shows went to Clapton’s Crossroads Centre, the National Deaf Children’s Society, the Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation and the Cranleigh Arts Centre.
