Surrey Artists’ Open Studios

Surrey Artists’ Open Studios (SAOS) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and artists across the county were working all hours for the annual opening in June.

However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event has moved to September when around 200 artists will throw open their studio doors and welcome visitors who would like to chat to them about their creative pursuits.

All the artists are responding to the Covid-19 crisis by offering safety measures in line with government guidance to keep both themselves and members of the public safe when visiting the studios. With these in place, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet artists in their place of work, view demonstrations, buy artwork direct from the artists and try some creative workshops.

“We are extremely pleased to be opening SAOS on September 19,” says Caitlin Heffernan SAOS Programme Manager. “The past few months have presented us all with many challenges, but we are hopeful that residents and visitors to Surrey will be able to enjoy the breadth of the county’s artistic talent and support artists during this difficult year.”

From September 19 to October 4, visitor numbers in some studios may be limited to ensure the safety of artists and visitors.
