To mark the 65th birthday of legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury on September 5, 2011, Lotus donated a one-off Evora S for a charity auction, with proceeds going to support the HIV AIDS charity fund, Mercury Phoenix Trust.

The winner of this unique Lotus wasrenowned petrolhead Radio 2 DJ, Chris Evans, who is famous for his impressive collection of classic Ferraris.

This unique car is now on sale at Bell and Colvill in West Horsley, who also happen to be the oldest Lotus dealership in the world.

The Evora S has been painted in pearl white with red and bronze stripes, with the interior featuring a yellow and red Alcantara trim, plus a Union Jack-upholstered back seat, to reflect the exuberant attire worn by Freddie Mercury.

The Evora S is an exciting car even without this added history. It has a 3.5 litre supercharged V6 and weighs less than most shopping trolleys. Well, almost!

Keep an eye out in the new year for a road test of this fantastic model in Surrey Life magazine and contact Jamie Matthews or Lotus sales at Bell and Colvill on 01483 281000 for more information about this unique bit of motoring and rock history.
