Classic car run for wine enthusiasts launches at Top Gear's home, Dunsfold Park

Following in the tyre tracks of Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz - and, more recently, reigning F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel - this year's Beaujolais Run started at the world renowned Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Park
Following in the tyre tracks of Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz - and, more recently, reigning F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel -this years Beaujolais Run started at the world renowned Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Park on Tuesday November 15.
A classic car run for wine enthusiasts, whichraises funds towards the Henry Surtees Foundation, the starting grid took shape at the Cranleigh aerodrome, with participants fully refuelled after a night at the Royal Automobile Club's Woodcote Park in Epsom.
"I have memories of Dunsfold Park from Henry driving his first race car there, says 1964 Formula One world champion andrace patron John Surtees, whose late son the charityis named after.
The hanger we operated from in preparation for his first Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2009, driving a Surtees TS10 Formula Two car, was the same one as Top Gear.
Dunsfold Parkhas become internationally renowned for more than justTop Gear, of course,and has been used for filming Casino Royale, Da Vinci Code,Batman Begins and Spooks.
This years four day event also celebrates 50 years of the Jaguar E-type and, aftertacklingGambon and Hammerhead in Stig style, thedrivers headed off for deepest Burgundy tofill their boots with afew crates of the finest.
