What are the key trends that you expect to see in Surrey in the coming months?
Having just launched our new department, our third lettings office in Elmbridge, we are expanding to reflect the demand for quality properties to rent in the area.

We expect to see continued growth in the corporate sector, with those companies who didnt post employees to the UK in the last few years now expanding and needing family houses to rent. Stock remains short and this, coupled with high demand, means that we expect prices to continue to keep rising gradually.

Tell us what excites you most about the area you work in?
Elmbridge has just been named as the area offering the Best Quality of Life in the UK, which is exciting, especially as it backs up what we all know! Having lived in the area myself, I know it has great shops, green spaces, excellent schools, low crime levels and lovely properties, and this is why I also enjoy working in the area so much.

Are there bargains still to be found in Surrey?
Offers are all negotiated on an individual basis and price isnt always the most important factor to a landlord. For example, some landlords may offset the level of rent offered in order to guarantee a one, two or three-year tenancy with no break clause, or perhaps prefer one tenant over another if they can pay rent upfront.

What is your favourite property related anecdote?
We had a rental property on a private road in Esher, which we successfully let to a family with a young baby. Before moving to the house, the baby had slept peacefully through the night but, on moving, woke nightly crying. The mother, sensing the house was haunted, arranged for an exorcism. We later heard that the baby began to sleep peacefully once again!
