One of the joys of wandering through our pretty Surrey towns is that you often suddenly come across a gem of a store thats invitingly packed with must-have goodies.
Godalming is one such town and tucked along Church Street is Pavilion. Prettily painted in soft green, this double-fronted shop is bound to have just the gift youve been looking for.
Arranged on dressers, tables and chests, youll find Martin Gulliver spotty or striped china and Roy Kirkham floral tableware, lovely coloured glass and collectable John Hine Racku crackle glazed hares, and much more.
In the numerous rooms that make up this one-time bakery, complete with bakers oven, theres a selection of lovely patchwork bedspreads, mohair throws and silk cushions. Here too are cute baby clothes and toys and a selection of cards many by local artists.
Beautifully decorated Terra Mundi money boxes, said to hold up to 1,000 worth of coins, are a popular buy and I couldnt resist the sweet smelling Heyland and Whittle room diffusers.
Gorgeous silk flowers, slate message plaques announcing goodbye tension, hello pension and some unusual jewellery would all make wonderful gifts.
If you spend more than 30 in Pavilion you will receive a 5 gift voucher or entrance into the local lottery. And for good measure, theres a great gift wrapping service too.
