Over the last decade, 34-year-old interior designer Isabel Ballardie has built up an enviable clientele in Surrey. In fact, you may well have met her previously at the fabulous Packhouse emporium in Runfold. Now, she has moved to a new showroom in central Farnham, marking the start of a new chapter for the company.
Moving to the new showroom is a real turning point for us, says Isabel. For a start, its so much larger so we can meet our clients in comfort and showcase our bespoke furniture and accessories as well.
Achieving the right ambiance in a room is key to Isabels design style, whether its in a country house or a lavish new-build. To this end, she sources unique furnishings to give character. Sofas have sharp, clean lines for elegance, with layers of fabrics ranging from silk to velvet, while statement table lamps, often embellished in crystal, create the wow factor.
Windows are my particular passion, she adds. I like curtains with double pleats and subtle trim details.
Warm colours tend to feature in her mood boards, set against a calm, neutral background. The result is a look that is classic enough to give her clients confidence yet vibrant enough to instil a sense of bravery as well.

In my view...
What do you love most about your home?
The dining room. I have a beautiful oak table with a French glass drop chandelier hanging over it and the whole room is reflected in an enormous floor to ceiling mirror. A talking point if nothing else!
Has any one designer influenced your style?
Nina Campbell. Her timeless and elegant designs are the reason that I went into the industry.
Whats the best thing about your job?
Inspiring clients to have confidence to install a design that they would never have thought of themselves.
How do you like to relax?
I enjoy time with my six-year-old son; being a girl doesnt exonerate you from having light sabre battles!
What couldnt you do without?
My friend and business partner, Jane Munk, without whom there would be no Isabel Ballardie Interiors.
Name your signature style?
I like to create a stylish but relaxed look that is not going to date by next season.
Whats the next thing you will buy for your home?
Paint for my sons bedroom... I have promised him a blue theme.
