Established in 1972 by four friends, two of whom were graduates of RHS Garden Wisley, One Way Gardeners continue to provide a high quality, reliable and professional garden maintenance service, with honesty and integrity as their main core values.

Over the years three of the founding members went on to pursue other dreams and the running of the company fell under the care of Andy McKenzie (Diploma in Horticulture, RHS Garden Wisley) and his wife, Pauline.

Through their dedication and hard work the company has designed and cared for many gardens in Surrey. Andy brought his passion and expertise to each new project, nurturing and training a new generation of gardeners along the way.

In 2012, the company passed into the hands of their daughter Fiona and son-in-law, Oliver Riddell, himself a student of Merrist Wood horticultural college.

Now, almost forty years old, One Way Gardeners continues to hold true to its original design, offering its valued customers an honest and professional service, based on the same Christian values that have sustained the company since day one.

What One Way Gardeners do:

  • We aim to provide a high quality, reliable and professional garden maintenance service to our valued customers.

  • We care for gardens both big and small, for private clients and businesses in and around Guildford, from routine but essential garden maintenance, lawn care, hedge trimming, planting and cultivation to soft landscaping and more.

  • We have good working relationships with local nurseries in the Surrey area and through these links are able to source and supply most plants and materials that our customers require.

  • It is our policy to ensure a high percentage of our workforce receives formal horticultural training through establishments such as Merrist Wood or RHS Garden Wisley.

  • As well as our expertise and experience, the source of our success remains the good working relationships we develop with our customers, most of whom have employed our services for many years, which we hope reflects the quality and reliability of the service we provide.
