The Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards finalists, nominated by our readers, are all local heroes in our opinion but here are the winners

We are delighted to announce the winners of the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards 2020, and what tough decisions they were. With news of further lockdown measures, it is even more important that we support local food and drink producers to keep these businesses – great and small – afloat. Due to coronavirus restrictions we have been unable to celebrate this prestigious event with our usual glittering awards dinner for all our finalists and sponsors. We are delighted that we could still raise their profile and tell you about the fantastic things they’ve achieved through what has been a very challenging year. Our winners will have their trophy delivered when it is safe to do. These awards were all about the local food and drink heroes nominated by you, so thank you for telling us about your local champions. And finally, a big thank you to all our sponsors, they have helped the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards to keep supporting local businesses. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists.

Farmer Patrick Deeley, Flower Farm, Godstone

A true visionary was a term used to describe Patrick Deeley from Flower Farm in a number of the nominations we received for the 2020 Pride of Surrey award. Our judges for this category, Surrey Life editor Rebecca Younger and Simon Lewis from headline sponsor Partridge Muir & Warren, couldn’t agree more. Already considered to be at the heart of the community of Godstone before the pandemic, Patrick went above and beyond to ensure those self-isolating across the entire county during lockdown received deliveries of fresh food. His forward-thinking approach to farming and providing for the local community continue to inspire and his online presence on social media is both educational and entertaining.
